"I find myself fascinated by memory and feeling, and creating on film anchors me there. Much of my inspiration comes from slowing down and noticing the beauty in simple moments.


I care about meeting people at their heart, within a space for their self expression. Super 8 feels like the most natural way for me to do just that. It invites presence, it allows moments to unfold so they can naturally exist a little longer. and it’s raw, unpredictable, fun; much like life itself.

What is Super 8?

Super 8 refers to the 8mm film format and the cameras designed to record it. These cameras were designed to be more compact and portable than traditional movie cameras, and became a popular choice for creative filmmaking, known for their retro look and authentic image. Kodak still produces Super 8 film cartridges today, which can be processed by specialised labs around the world. Super 8 footage has a visual quality that’s difficult to replicate, and each film cartridge records approx 2 minutes 24 seconds of raw footage.

Why Super 8?

Super 8 is a medium that celebrates imperfection, embraces unpredictability, and creates something playful, raw, and deeply felt - much like life itself. Its visual qualities, natural grain, and authentic feel demands presence when filming making it ideal for storytelling that values honesty, connection, and emotion.

Does Super 8 record sound?

All Super 8 footage is filmed silently. Some Super 8 cameras were able to record audio, however the film required for this is no longer made. Any audio you hear in a finished Super 8 film is added during the editing process.

How long will my film be?

length of film varies depending on coverage and desired content. generally people opt for a 5 minute final film length for full day weddings and elopements. note; final film length is always discussed upon enquiry with options for shorter or longer films.

When can I expect my film?

after your shoot, your Super 8 film is sent for processing and scanning. once it returns to me, the editing can begin. I always allow enough time for this process and guarantee final film delivery within 12 weeks of your shoot date.

Does Super 8 combine well with digital?

Yes! Super 8 works beautifully alongside digital photography. If you’re looking for digital coverage please mention on enquiry or phone call touch base and I can share my recommendations and ensure your day is captured seamlessly!
